                Memberships and Commitments

                We engage with nonprofit organizations, clients, other financial institutions, multilateral organizations and other stakeholders to help advance our sustainability efforts. These relationships enable us to deepen our expertise, drive improved sustainability performance and create new sustainability opportunities for our clients.

                JPMorgan Chase participates in, serves as members of, or has committed to various initiatives and principles that address business and sustainability. These include:

                Equator Principles
                Equator Principles

                JPMorgan Chase is a Member of the Equator Principles (Opens Overlay), a framework for determining, assessing and managing environmental and social risks in certain financial transactions. The latest revision to the Equator Principles (known as EP III) became effective in June 2013, and applies globally, to all industry sectors, and to the following four financial products: Project Finance Advisory Services, Project Finance, Project Related Corporate Loans and Bridge Loans.

                JPMorgan Chase provides information about Equator Principles implementation and transactions which reached financial close in its annual Equator Principles Report.

                Green Bond Principles
                Green Bond Principles

                JPMorgan Chase was a lead author of the Green Bond Principles together with a group of peer banks, and currently serves on the Green Bond Principles Executive Committee. The Green Bond Principles are voluntary guidelines for the development and issuance of Green Bonds that encourage transparency and disclosure by making recommendations, principally for bond issuers, on the information that should be publicly disclosed regarding the use of proceeds, proceeds management, and associated reporting.

                The U.N.-supported Principles for Responsible Investment (Opens Overlay) (PRI) initiative is an international network of investors working on a voluntary basis to incorporate environmental, social and governance issues into investment practices across asset classes. J.P. Morgan Asset Management became a signatory to the PRI initiative in 2007.

                World Business Council for Sustainable Development

                JPMorgan Chase is a member of the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (Opens Overlay) (WBCSD). The organization is a leading nonprofit comprised of progressive member companies from a broad range of industries around the world that are working to develop business solutions that help address pressing sustainability challenges. Daniel Pinto, CEO of J.P. Morgan’s Corporate & Investment Bank, serves on the WBCSD’s Executive Committee.

                Soft Commodities Compact

                JPMorgan Chase has adopted the Soft Commodities Compact (Opens Overlay), which promotes sustainable soft commodity supply chains in the banking industry. The initiative is led by The Consumer Goods Forum and the University of Cambridge’s Banking Environment Initiative.

                J.P. Morgan provides information about its approach and progress toward implementing the Compact commitments in its annual Soft Commodities Compact Report.

                CDP

                J.P. Morgan Asset Management supports CDP's (Opens Overlay) efforts to promote standardized disclosure from companies on greenhouse gas emissions and climate change risk management. The Firm is also a respondent to CDP's annual climate change information request.

                Ceres

                JPMorgan Chase is a member of the Ceres Company Network (Opens Overlay), which helps advance the firm's sustainability objectives. Ceres is a leading nonprofit organization that works with a network of companies, investors, and public interest groups to accelerate and expand the adoption of sustainable business practices and build a healthy global economy.

                JPMorgan Chase is a member of C2ES’s Business Environmental Leadership Council (Opens Overlay), which is a network of U.S. companies focused on addressing energy and climate change challenges.

We have partnered with the GIIN since 2010 to publish leading research on the impact investment market.
